LENOVO has a new unit called the U1 Hybrid I think that is a tablet with a touch screen so you can manip just like on a iPhone. It works on snapdragon os and 3g networks or wi-fi.
The hybrid part is that it converts to a notebook by plugging it into the keyboard half making it look and act just like a notebook where it converts over to Win 7.
Comes out later half of this year.

What interest me are the ROKU type boxes like POP box and BOXEE. These are Web TV devices for conversion to HDMI

But then I'm leery that Hulu and others will start charging ...

Ron,

Both of those Web TV-type devices are very impressive. Can you insert a flash drive into one of those devices, have it hooked up to an HDTV and play?

The reason I ask is because in setting up a Wi-Fi hot spot that is also a video conferencing facility, I would normally hook a VGA cable to a laptop to make video conferencing via Skype possible. However, if one of those boxes could easily do the same thing, that would be a much more cost-effective way to proceed. I actually have a restaurant manager friend that wants to set up a large HDTV screen for promotional purposes. He does not want to invest in a laptop computer if it is not necessary. I think these boxes may be the answer. I just am not sure at this point. Can you enlighten me here?
